About the Children, Youth, and Family Advisory Council
The general purpose of the Council shall be to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners, The Council of Managers, and the Human Service Division of York County related to issues affecting or relating to children, youth, and families in need of services from County Agencies. The Council shall make recommendations which will enable County Agencies serving children, youth, and families to assess needs, plan for services, apply for and receive funds, recommend priorities based on needs, and recommend the allocation of financial resources within the following programs: Children and Youth Services Program (CYS); the Youth Development Center (YDC; the Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP); the Juvenile Probation Office (JPO); and the Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program (MH/MR). Further, the Council shall assist in the development and implementation of an integrated service delivery system for children, youth, and families.
